Last year Volunteers of America Colorado Branch provided meaningful volunteer opportunties for more than 17,000 individuals and we continue to provide this opportunity to anyone who wants to make a difference. Some volunteers want a long-term project, like delivering Meals on Wheels to a homebound senior. Many come to us for a holiday project where they are able to share their own blessings with others; so they may sign up to Adopt-a-Family or serve meals to the needy during Thanksgiving, Christmas or Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Through Volunteers of America, young people volunteer individually or with church or school groups to learn first-hand, the value of helping neighbors in need. Finally, now more than ever before, corporate and civic groups understand the internal and external benefits of giving back to their communities; group projects make a big impact in a few hours, all while promoting the sense of teambuilding and collaboration.
